We have been thinking about how to end the sentences about the colours and this is what we have come up with:

As colourful as a rainbow/collage/beautiful sunset/Picasso.
As green as mint/fresh meadow.
As red as a rose/blood.
As black as coal/the night.
As blue as the sea/sky/our computer screensaver!
As orange as a gingerhead/orange/a warm blazing fire.
As yellow as a daffodil/sunflower.
As brown as a tree trunk/mud/creamy melting chocolate.
As white as a snowy Christmas/dreamy clouds/ghost.
As pink as a pig/hubbabubba chewing gum/a girl's rosy cheek.
